It's the age of Aquarius
It's this time of the year
The thing is, change happens gradually, whether we like it or not. And perhaps it's not always the change we ask for, but it's the change we need (whether we like it or not). The point is, we need to trust the process. Trust the change.
Winter's halfway through, but the days started getting bigger, and the weather is getting nicer.
Holidays are far gone; business as usual.
Holidays are far gone; business as usual.
By now we've already forgotten our New Year's goals, as old habits die hard.
-I know, I'm not judging, I'm just sayin'...

Why?
Because it's the natural order of things.
I believe it was Jon Kabat-Zinn who said 'You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf' which is the meaning of being mindful in a world that consistently changes and adapting to the circumstances.
Of course, I am no better. I, as well, get frustrated with things that change and I cannot control.
For I am human (shocking, I know!)

See, I made some promises to myself for this year, and I am not keeping them. I am not being consistent and losing faith in things that matter to me; and why?
All because I treat myself like a no-one I have a situationship with. And whilst I understand it's partially the way I was taught to self-love, I can't help but notice I deserve better!
I'm sorry, Me, but I deserve a deeper and more honest connection than that.
Because I can't ask for anyone to commit to me if I don't commit to things that matter the most.

So! This morning I got up and went for a run. And then I got home, had a coffee, and read a few pages of my book. I didn't seek anyone's approval, didn't post on social media, and wasn't looking for that moment of inspirational clarity.
I just got my pretty ass up and did the thing!
And as soon as I finish my coffee, I'm going to get up and bake my favorite chocolate lava cake - just because!
I just need to remember to surf along, and change will come, as I will be part of it and it will be part of me!
Trust the process!
